FGThumbnailCanvas

 

Easy but powerful

Like all our products, the FGThumbnailCanvas control has been designed from the ground-up to be easy to use. It’s based on the built-in Realbasic canvas class to facilitate its easy addition to your projects. It requires no third-party plugins, works in Mac and Windows applications and can be used with any version of Real Studio (Personal, Professional or Enterprise).

• Beautiful. Making things look pretty with Realbasic on a Mac is easy but the canvas control and Windows have a love-hate relationship. Well, not with FGThumbnailCanvas. It looks great on both platforms with no flicker.
• Fully customisable drawing. Simply subclass the FGThumbnail class and implement your own drawing routines. Cells are updated whenever they are resized, selected or hovered over so you can configure how they look to your heart’s content.
• Fast and scalable Thumbnails are only drawn and stored in RAM when they are visible. This means that you can have 10,000 thumbnails be super-responsive and only incur a small memory footprint.
• Changeable colours. You can set the colour of drag selection rectangles, selected thumbnail surrounds, the canvas background, fill opacities and more.
• Mouse selection. FGThumbnailCanvas is smart enough to handle command- or shift-click selection. You can even drag thumbnails off the canvas as Realbasic DragItems.
• Keyboard support. You can walk through the thumbnail tree using the arrow keys on your keyboard.

Pricing and availability

The FGThumbnailCanvas class is available in two licenses – standard and professional. Both versions have the same functionality but the standard license is an encrypted class whereas the professional license includes the full source code. A demonstration REALbasic project and full (PDF) documentation is included with each purchase.
